Someone told me putting the hold folded towels away in the linen closet with little or no room for air circulation is causing the smell. The warm folded towels are causing moisture and has nowhere to go. WebPut the towels in a top load washer with dawn dish soap, 1/4-1/2c depending on how many towels and how much water the machine uses (he or regular agitator). Run a hot wash, whatever cycle uses the most water. Stop the machine when the wash cycle is done. Start another hot wash as your rinse. Watch for suds.
