That being said, a lack of parts trucks in yards in my area led me to a DS2/HEI hybrid. And a lack of decent DS2 remans took me to the HEI. I installed a new cam, so they were both new together. You may be able to swap your old gear on to the new dist. I would talk to the Skip White people about it, I found them to be helpful

Changed nothing else and have had no problems. Well, I did 'gut' the back of the balast resistor and soldered in a piece of 18 gauge wire...you could simply unplug the balast and jumper the wires if you are not picky on looks.
