WebDec 11, 2016 · You probably can't hand-hold the GND filter in front of a 6 or 10 stop ND. You couldn't see it or stay in position for 15 to 30 seconds. You'd normally be doing landscape with a tripod and just hold the GND in front of the lens for the fraction of a second for a normal exposure. If I was using NDs for a long exposure, I'd use the holder.
