Torfaen Council has worked closely with the Friends of Pontypool Park, to plan and implement refurbishment works, following concerns from the community about the condition of both iconic buildings. WebDec 5, 2024 · Pontypool Park is locally known as the People's Park, covering some 64 hectares with several historical features - including Italian Gardens, Ice Houses, Folly Tower and Shell Grotto - which have been restored with a Heritage Lottery Fund grant and funding from Torfaen County Borough Council.
