Just a heads up get the nmea 2000 network expansion/extension kit instead of the motorguide kit. The motorguide kit has a really short nmea cable. I found this out the hard way. Its only 5′ long. The lowrance one is 20. That will reach from your now unit to the console. TMF89. Participant.

I’d either have to buy two new Lowrance Wlite Ti2 units; buy a single new HDS unit for the bow; or buy a used older HDS unit. I’m going to look hard for a used HDS Gen 2 touch 7 or 9 for the bow. They do not use Ethernet cat5 connectivity. The HDS unit can talk to each other with standard Cat5 Ethernet connectivity like your home or network PC.

Story per Lowrance is this: When running two units connected via Ethernet cable you get full control of both units. Not just a second unit displaying the others screen.Full use of sonar/radar/mapping etc. etc.

The ethernet cable connects any two HDS units together to share sonar information and the NMEA backbone connects any two units together to share GPS information.
