As far as I know, there is no way to delete the broken recovery checkpoints through the GUI or powershell. Instead, you must manually merge them. Often that process will take care of merging the other (older) lingering avhd/avhdx files as well. This is the easiest way to deal with it and it’s as safe as it gets.
